Day 01 -

Arrive in the city of Negombo after being picked up from the airport. This city is known for its seaside charm. With the iridescent sea nearby, it is the perfect place to sit by the beach and relax. If you wish to take in the sights, head to St Mary’s Church and see the breathtaking artwork of Jesus Christ. Check into your hotel for the day and rest.

Day 02 -

In the morning, tour the city of Negombo. Try some delicacies and head to the church to see the wonderful sights. After exploring this city, pack your belongings and make your way to Sigiriya. On the way to this city, make a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Sanctuary. Take in the sights of the elephants being cared for. Arrive in Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the infamous Rock Fortress is located.

Day 03 -

As the sun rises, head to the fortress to climb to the top. As you climb, you will come across the valuable frescoes. Admire the throne of the monarch and the surrounding forests from the very top. Visit Polonnaruwa after this thrilling adventure. In the history of this island, this city is very significant. It served as the nation’s second capital during the eleventh and twelfth centuries. During this period the city was able to create amazing inventions that improved the state of technology. Visit the ruins and temples of this country and return back to Sigiriya.

Day 04 -

Head to Anuradhapura to visit the ‘Atamasthana’. Afterwards, visit the ruins of old kingdoms which span back centuries. Head to Habarana so you can be entertained by a jeep safari through the Minneriya National Park. See herbs of Asian elephants clustered around as they graze the savannah.

Day 05 -

On day five, leave for Kandy. On the way, stop by the Dambulla Cave Temple to see the wonderful artwork of Lord Buddha which spans through many cave networks. These are accompanied by a variety of statues of Lord Buddha. Make a stop at Matale to visit the spice gardens. The spices and herbs cultivated here have been used medicinally and in cuisine for hundreds of years in Sri Lanka.

Day 06 -

Tour the great city of Kandy. While here you will come across the Temple of the Tooth Relic, an important structure that houses the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. Afterwards, head to Peradeniya where you can enjoy shopping for native crafts. Find yourself immersed in the beauty of gems and batiks or wood carvings and silks. When you return to Kandy, head out at night to enjoy a cultural show.

Day 07 -

Say goodbye to Kandy as you head to Nuwara Eliya. Tour the city of Nuwara Eliya and be in awe of the pleasant sights. The tea plantations which span far will catch your eye as you notice the tea pluckers’ colourful sarees. Visit the factory in which the tea leaves get produced into the ones that will be shipped globally.

Day 08 -

Take a fun hike through Horton Plains and come across some vivid wildlife such as elk or porcupines. Take in the refreshing sights of nature untamed as you hike through the wonderful scenery. After enjoying lunch, take a stroll through the city.

 

Day 09 -

Take a scenic train ride to Ella where you will pass by waterfalls glistening as they fall through green hills. Explore Ella where the Nine Arches Bridge is located and enjoy some picturesque moments.

Day 10 -

Depart for Yala where you can enjoy a thrilling safari in the afternoon. Yala is well known for the extensive leopard population which resides here. Enjoy the thrilling sights of these prowlers as they can be found sitting on treetops.

Day 11, 12 & 13 -

Start your morning by touring Galle’s magnificent Dutch Fort which is regarded as Asia’s best-preserved colonial fortress. This is also the location of the oldest breadfruit tree on the island. Use the Madu River Boat ride to get a close-up look at the wetland ecosystem. Visiting the turtle hatchery is part of the conservation effort to protect the young turtles that face extinction. Walk along the sandy Galle beach with your loved ones to create memories and enjoy an exciting day of water sports in the Bentota River on your final day in Galle.

Day 14 -

Depart Galle as you head to the airport. If time permits, visit Colombo and spend some time shopping to your heart’s content.
